WHAT DOES “SECURE” MEAN IN EZEKIEL 38-39 (Russian-Islamic Invasion of Israel)?

    The contextual evidence of Ezekiel 38-39 shows that Israel is infallibly protected by God-Based Security (from-Defeat)—& has been since 1948. But secular Israel relies on its own Human-Based Self-Security & pins its confidence on its military strength. Russia & its Iran-Islamic allies fall into the Human-Based Self-Deceived-Security category. The Chart below gives several scriptural references for each of these categories.

The EVIDENCES OF ISRAEL'S SECURITY TODAY

                    THE EVIDENCE OF THE 38.8 LIST

    Ezekiel 38:8 gives a list of important events effecting Israel in the last days. God is not only the prophetic-Guarantor, but the actual DOER of each of the 5 events on the list. One by one God accomplishes all 5 events listed in verse 8 by His own Hand. We read that

1) God will summon Magog to invade Israel in the latter years. He will.
2) God would “restore Israel from the sword” (after 1900 years of captivity). He did, in 1948.
3) God would bring Jews to the “mountains of Israel” where “old” Jerusalem is located. He did, in 1967.

4) God would bring Jews out of many nations to Israel. He did, and He continues.
5) God causes Israel AT THAT TIME to be “living securely.” He did, and He continues.

Would God return Israel to their land—after 1900 years—& then say “You’re on your own now”? The MIRACULOUS RECORD of Israel’s survival testifies to God-Based Security—AT THAT TIME, 1948—until Today!

If the first 4 events on the list are God-Activated events, why would event #5, Israel’s security, be HUMAN-BASED fallible, false security? It would not. Ezekiel 38:8 lists 5 (not 4) miraculous God-Activated events. Event #5 has Israel under God-Activated, GOD-BASED SECURITY, just like the other 4 events are God-Activated Miracle events. That Israel has been under God-Based Security is a fact of fulfilled prophecy since 1948! (The context implies that the security Israel experiences is contemporaneous with her return to the land; Hebrew =literally, “live in safety”).

                    THE EVIDENCE OF 67 YEARS

Israel is not in Millennial-Age Security (perfect peace). Israel is in Current-Age, but still--God-Based--Security.

But in the current age, God-Based Security means God makes Israel secure from DEFEAT, not from wars, threats, attacks & terrorists. In every war since 1948 multi-national armies have threatened Israel, but Israel was Secure from Defeat. They have amassed against Israel, but Israel was Secure from Defeat. They have attacked Israel, but Israel was Secure from Defeat.. Every Bible prophecy teacher extols God’s Direct Hand in giving Israel Victory in the 4 Miracle-Wars of 1948, ‘54, ‘67 & 73.

IF THIS IS NOT GOD’S SECURITY (God-Based Security) WHAT IS IT?

The text says Israel is “living securely” BEFORE the Russian-Islamic Invasion. They are ALREADY in security. What kind of security is it? Russia gathers multi-national forces as a threatening “cloud” to the north, but we know in advance (38:3) that

        Israel is

Secure from Defeat

 International terror arises (38:13), but

        Israel is

Secure from Defeat

The multi-national attack comes like a “cloud covering the land (38:9),” but

        Israel is

Secure from Defeat

The Point—the “BETACH-SECURITY” of 38:8 exists BEFORE, DURING, & AFTER the invasion, and is defined by the passage itself as Current-Age.GOD-BASED SECURITY. The fact that Israel today is under constant strife & threat, terror & attack, reminds us of when the Egyptians entrapped the Israelites at the Red Sea—then and today they are Secure from Defeat because their security is God-Based!

                    THE EVIDENCE OF GOD’S ’RHETORICAL’ QUESTION

God poses a purely rhetorical question ( a question that is asked in order to make a point rather than to elicit an answer). He asks Russia, "On that day when My people Israel are living securely, will you not know it?” (38:14) If Russia’s answer was “Yes,” they would not attack Israel. Instead, they do not believe Israel is secure. Russia believes Israel is “unwalled”—that they are defenseless against Russia’s “plan.” (38:10-11)

But that is God’s point. The question is, “will you not KNOW” Israel is secure. Russia will not KNOW it because it is God-Based Security, and Russia is blind to it. Russia knows nothing of God’s WALL—”’For I,’ declares the Lord, ‘will be a WALL OF FIRE around [Israel]’...” (Zec. 2:5)

 SUMMARY STATEMENT

    YES—Israel is living in GOD-BASED SECURITY TODAY—

& HAS BEEN FOR 67 YEARS. Therefore, the RUSSIAN ISLAMIC INVASION OF ISRAEL awaits no further signs except for the invading nations to take their place on the prophetic stage. Today the Russian-Iranian (and Turkish, though not yet in a tight alliance with Russia) military presence in Syria is a huge step in that direction.

We can't say that today's scene is THE scene for the fulfillment of Ezekiel's prophecy of the Gog-Magog invasion of Israel, but when those events do occur,

they will look just like the events of today.
