"Live by God's Every Word"  Ma 4.4

You will be reunited with your LOVED ONE

(PERSONAL PROPHECY--An unconditional promise to a Believer is like a prophecy-- IT WILL HAPPEN.These promise-prophecies are for you PERSONALLY as a Believer in Jesus Christ)

You will be reunited with your LOVED ONE
.
I have been studying what the Bible says about "When A Christian Dies" and "When Your Loved One Goes To Heaven" for 35 years. The Truth is very simple, graceful and beautiful, yet so Divinely profound as to be unimaginable. But God has given us a glimpse.

Because of his sin of adultery with Bathsheba, David's son by her was taken to Heaven by God. David's grief was unbearable for a period. But when he recovered, by faith in God David spoke these words, a promise-prophecy for you whose loved one is in Heaven.

"But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me." 2 Samuel 12:23

One thousand years later the Apostle Paul penned these words by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit,

"For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven...

Then we who are alive and remain

shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord..."

                                                                                                                                            1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

Both of these promise-prophecies, when correlated with other passages which speak of our future trip to Heaven, give a picture of our RE-unification with our believing loved ones who have gone on to Heaven before us. Today they are among the LIVING, not the dead (Mat. 22:32). This bringing together of loved ones who have been separated by death is one of the great Personal Prophecies of the Bible.

David foresaw the day when at his death he would in his spirit ascend to Heaven. He wrote "And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever" (Psa. 23:6). There he would be with the Lord and with his departed son, who was fully alive (minus his body). At death, our body goes to the grave. But we remain alive in our spirit-soul (our immaterial-self) and go to Heaven. Think of yourself stepping out of your clothes and into a white robe (like in the doctors exam room). Your clothes are discarded--like the body going to the grave. But you are fully alive and aware in your heavenly robe.

Now Paul foresaw a day when, either by Rapture or by Resurrection, we will all ("all" believers, 1 Cor. 15:52) be lifted up to Heaven WITH those loved ones ("with them", 1 Thes. 4:17) who preceded us to Heaven. All Church-age believers will participate in one or the other phase of this singular event; for Old Testament believers it will be resurrection (Rev. 20:4).  SEE GRAPH BELOW...

In the graph above, if we are still living when Christ comes to gather us to Heaven, we will ascend in our transformed body/spirit-soul (the Rapture). If we have previously died, like our loved one, in our spirit-soul we will descend from Heaven with Jesus and will be re-clothed with our body as it is resurrected anew out of the grave. In this one sweeping process we will then ascend in our transformed body/spirit-soul up "with [our loved ones] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord [in Heaven]" (1 Thes. 4:16-18).
We will descend again with Jesus at His Second Coming to the Earth. But that is another story. Meanwhile "comfort one another with these words." (1 Thes. 4:16-18)

Either way, Jesus, who said "I will come again" (John 14:3), will do exactly that and RE-unite saved loved ones forever!
